Destination

Can you imagine a better destination to visit for summer school?

The Republic of Croatia is a Central European and Mediterranean country that has about 1200 islands. It is considered one of the most beautiful countries in the Mediterranean and in the world and it attracts many tourists. There is also a rich touristic tradition on the mainland.

One of the most popular destinations is the capital city Zagreb – the political, cultural, scientific, and economic center of the Republic of Croatia.

Zagreb

It is not common for a city to have its own nature park. Medvednica is near the city center and is a favorite resort of many domestic and foreign tourists. Furthermore, the streets and squares of the city are filled with green parks and gardens.

On the Strossmayer promenade in the Gornji grad you can enjoy the most romantic panorama of the city. The city is also characterized by Lenucci’s “green horseshoe”, a series of eight green squares.

The most popular among green squares is Zrinjevac. Nearby is another place to escape from the city noise – the Botanical Garden. It has one of the richest collections of plants in Europe with about 10,000 plant species.

In the eastern part of the city is the spacious Maksimir Park, the largest park in Zagreb.

Medvednica

The densely forested slopes of Medvednica can be reached by a short tram drive from the city center. Visitors can choose which of the many marked paths they will take to one of the mountain lodges that offer cheap, freshly prepared traditional dishes. It is a true holiday in nature.
